Antique Folding Travel Chessboard.

An Antique Folding Travel Chessboard designed for Pegged travel chessmen, such as antique bone pegged English Playing sets. The chessboard squares are boxwood and Rosewood veneer with a solid Mahogany paneled back and raised frame. The chess board measures 7-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ open. The square size is 3/4″. The chessboard utilized two brass folding box hinges. There are 12 bone Cribbage-style rectangular inlays for scorekeeping This antique  chessboard is in very good condition with no damage. The finish is generally sound and has a decent luster. It could probably use a coat of wax. It appears to have been produced in the late 1850s. Scorekeeping pegs are not included.
