Vintage Cavalier Tournament Edition Alabaster Chessmen, Sealed Box

Offered here is a sealed set of Vintage Cavalier Tournament Edition Alabaster Chessmen, Alabaster and Walnut colored plastic, Product Number 1498. This is an Authentic Staunton design, heavily weighted. The chessmen are mounted atop brown felt base pads. The chess set has a large 4″ King with a 1.7″ diameter base. The chessmen and are housed in a sealed simulated black leather and gold paper covered, partitioned, presentation cardboard box. The box still has its original plastic protective covering. These chessmen  were noted for their elegant Knight designs. The Tournament Edition sets were put into production in 1967. These chessmen were approved by The United States Chess Federation. The chessmen play best on a chessboard with 2-1/4″ squares, included in the box with the Basic Rules of Chess.

The chessmen are produced by the Pacific Game Company, North Hollywood, California, 91605. The sets were produced in a Walnut and Alabaster plastic as well as a Black or Walnut and ivory colored plastic. The Cavalier sets were also produced in a small Library size with a 2-7/8″ King, 1.1″ diameter base, weighted and felted.
