Magnetic Travel Chess Set With Checkers.
This Magnetic Travel Chess Set with Checkers was manufactured in Italy for Dunhill. The magnetic chessmen are gold and silver plated metal with the King measuring 3/4″ tall by almost 1/2″ in diameter. The checkers are 1/2″ in diameter. The set is housed in a polished Walnut Burl folding case, lined in beige suede leather and stamped “Dunhill, Made in Italy” in gold. The case measures 7″ by 6″ by 2-1/2″ closed and 11-3/4″ by 7″ open. The set is in excellect condition, with some circular staining outside the playing field. This Magnetic Travel Chess and Checker Set was designed in the 1970s and were sold in stores in the U.K. which catered to the Luxury and Unique Gifts market such as Aspreys, Dunhill, Neiman Marcus and Harrods.
