This an elaborately and accurately hand-painted pewter Napoleon vs Wellington Chess Pieces . Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley was the 1st Duke of Wellington. The set is interesting as it features Byzantine type Rooks and Eastern-dressed Bishops, part of Prussian army under Blücher that The Duke of Wellington used to defeat Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815. The set appears to have been produced by AeroArt and is part of the St. Petersburg Collection.  The King stands 5-1/4” tall.
