Classic Games Imperator Chess Set.
Offered here is a like-new, mid-century, modern Chess set from the Classic Games in antique ivory and black colored plastic, It is the Edition III, Imperator. The chessmen are weighted and felted and includes a chessboard with black and gold squares and but lacks instructions shown. instructions. Each piece is stamped “CG”. The King stands 3.2″ tall with a 1.4″ diameter base. The black cardboard display box has individual cut-outs for the chess pieces and measures 15-1/2″ by 11-1/2″. The pieces are unused and the display box is in very good condition with wear consistent with long-term shelf storage. The set was produced by the Classic Games Company, Inc., Deer Park, NY 11729. The set dates to around 1970.
