Collector Series Brass Chessmen.
Offered here is a set of Collector Series Chessmen polished and antiqued Brass. The King stands 4-1/8″ tall with a 1-5/8″ diameter base. The chess pieces are housed in a premium Mahogany hinge-top box. The chessmen are cushioned atop felt base pads. Both the chessmen and the leather briefcase are in like-new condition. The chessmen were never used. The chess pieces play and display best on a chessboard with 2-3/8″ squares. These Collector Series Brass chessmen are a copy of The House of Staunton Collector Series chessmen and were produced around 1999. The original Collector Series was designed in 1996 and copyrighted by Frank Camaratta. The Collector Series design is based on the original Staunton chessmen design registered by Nathaniel Cooke and are referred to in the Camaratta Codex as the Jaques Paulsen Style chessmen which were produced between 1852 and 1854.
