Shown here is a vintage Cubist-style Lucite Chess Set with 32 stunning abstract chess pieces designed by the Lucite master, Charles Hollis Jones. The set is from the mid-1970s and is in like new condition.
The chess pieces range from 3″ to 1 1/2″ in size. The shapes are made from smooth blocks of clear acrylic with thin layers of translucent color. Viewed from the ends they appear as thin colored stripes. The layers of color overlap and create interesting color and light effects as they are viewed from different angles.
A choice of three chessboards is included. The Chess Boards offered are made in Lexan or glass and are in Excellent condition. Select your select your chessboard preference here.
