Dolfi Style Chess Set.
Offered here is a Dolfi Style Characters Bust Chess Set. The subjects in this chess set are individually hand-carved busts representing various colorful local caricatures from the region. The King stands 2.3″ tall. The hand carved pieces are crafted from Alpine Maple and housed in a flat, green, compartmented cardboard box. The bases are unweighted and felted. The chess pieces and storage box are in excellent condition. No chessboard is included with this sale, but a suitable chessboard can be found here. These chessmen were likely produced around 1975, although an exact date can’t be verified.
