Herman Ohme Abstract Plastic Chessmen.
This lot features the 1960s iconic modernist Herman Ohme Abstract Plastic chessmen. This Danish Modern minimalist style Ohme Chess Set is cast in white and black plastic. The King stands 3.6″ tall with a 1.3″ diameter base. The chessmen are weighted and rest atop brown felt base pads. The design was copyrighted in 1960 by Ohme and carries the U.S Patent No. 171-285. The chessmen are being sold without their original black paper covered cardboard display box. There is no chessboard. The chessmen in excellent condition. The sets were produced by Ohme in Venice, CA.
