The king stands at 2-3/4″ tall with a 7/8” diameter base. Each piece rests atop of red felted bases. Perfect for both casual p play or as an elegant display piece for the home. The ornate metal Staunton chess pieces are paired with an elaborately etched metal-clad chess board. The chess pieces and chessboard are housed in a striking red velvet-covered case lined in red velvet with depressions to secure the chessmen during transit of storage. These chess sets are commonly handcrafted in India, known for its rich tradition in artisan chess production. The chess set is as new and was produced around 1990.
