Robert Lander Abstract Ceramic Chess Set

Offered here is an innovative and totally modern approach to chessmen design. The chess pieces are fabricated from a creamy white and charcoal solid ceramic material. The King stands 4-1/8″ tall with a 1-1/4″ square base. All the chessmen are cushioned atop brown felt base pads. The pieces are quite heavy with very crisp detail. This abstract interpretation of the familiar Staunton pattern was executed by artist Robert Lander and copyrighted in 1969.
