Zagreb 1959 Style Chessmen.

This is a set of Zagreb 1959 Style Chessmen in Boxwood and Ebony.  The King stands 3-7/8″ tall with a 1-5/8″ diameter base. The chessmen are weighted and cushioned with green felt base pads. This set of chessmen includes an extra set of Queens to facilitate Pawn Promotion, a feature pioneered by Frank Camaratta and The House of Staunton. The chessmen are housed in a suede-lined, Black Faux Alligator-Skin  leather case with a removable upper tray and handle. The pieces were designed along the lines of the House of Staunton Zagreb 1959 commemorative chessmen, but lack the opposite colored finials and have a Formeé cross in place of the Eastern ball finial atop the King.
